Time is running out!

Hey, a couple of posts ago I stated that whenever I needed help most, it would never come. How silly. Earthly help, yeah, probably not. But I can always help the Man on High (not you, Cheech and Chong or Method Man and Red Man!) to give me the perseverence to make it through. And I'll be needing the divinely-inspired perseverence for the next couple of weeks for sure. You see, the CA Civil Engineer licensing exam is on Friday, Oct 28th and Saturday, Oct 29th. I haven't been a good little boy about preparing, either. Luckily (for lack of a better term) there are three parts to the test that can be passed separately and never taken again. So, it's my plan to pass the land surveying portion and leave the siesmic and discipline-specific portions for subsequent testing cycles. I make myself feel better by saying, "oh, you've been busy moving and transitioning into a new job and blah, blah, blah..." Well, it's working. I took a surveying practice exam earlier today that KICKED MY ASS. I'm planning on taking the second exam tomorrow and a new review book is on the way from amazon.com that should arrive on Wednesday. It's cram-time, baby! Dammit, I hate preparing for tests in this manner.....

The Bright Side.

For the four people out there that read my blog, thanks. However, I must apologize. The past severalposts have really been angry, angst-ridden rants that probably make you wonder why I haven't laterally slit my wrists. Then again, probably not. But they really convey a pissed-off message, don't they?

Seriously though, all is not bad. Last weekend, I went to an event in the Bay Area known as Hot Import Daze and hung out with some cool peeps. It's one of those events where people display their hot cars and where models drape themselves over said hot cars. Guess what I was doing...

I wish I knew how to attach pic files to this blog, but I don't have the inclination. But, man, that event was super-duper fun. I am an Asian man that prefers Asian women, and HID was pure heaven; import models are the hottest!!!! Hmm, what else? Charles hangs out a lot now, which is good for me, I think. Oftentimes I go through self-inflicted solitude so that I can study. But his company is appreciated b/c I get to do something that I haven't done in awhile, which is LAUGH. Cracking jokes, but not at another's expense (which is my least favorite form of comedy), is the most entertaining way to pass the time. And that's what we do when we hang out together. It also helps that we've known each other since elementary school, too. There aren't many people out there that could interact well with my brand of humor.

Oh! And I just found out that I am to be a groomsman at Mike's wedding!!!! How exciting! I have planned on attending for several months, but Mike (actually, Mike's fiance) gave me the news just this week. Heh, heh...leave it to Mike to ignore the minor details....The wedding's on Thanksgiving weekend, so I'll actually be leaving on Turkey day so that I can attend the rehearsal dinner on Friday and then attend the ceremony/celebration on Saturday and then fly home Sunday.

Excitement!!!!

No help when you need it.

Why is it that every time I need help or advice about something, everyone I seek out seems inconveniently unavailable or ignorant on the subject? Last night, for example, I needed help figuring out how to deal with a (very) minor legal infraction. And for you nosy readers out there, no, it wasn't for possession of child pornography, nor for possession of pot, nor for a traffic ticket. Sheesh. Anyways, I try calling my best buddy Charlie. He gives me some shitty nonsensical answers b/c he's out getting drunk with his buddies and trying to hit on some byatch in San Francisco. Okay--can't hate on him for trying to get some. So then I call cousin Bunny. She's out at some social function and is busy. Useless. So then I call Sister #2, who doesn't answer. How typical. Then I try my good buddy from NE (no, not you Joe, though I should have tried). She can't give me a clear answer. I try Random Mike. No good. I try several other people in my cellular phonebook. All dumb on my query. Hell, I even call up my old First Sergeant on his duty cell phone. And he DOES NOT ANSWER. Holy flying horseshit, Batman! It's pretty much a First Sergeant's duty to be super-receptive to his cell phone; looks like someone wasn't doing his job. Go Air Force. Whatever.

Anyway, the matter in which I required assistance is immaterial to this rant. The point is this: emperical evidence has shown that whenever I need help most in anything at any time...it will never come.

I think I'm going to keep track of how often this happens. The quantification of misery should make for an interesting study.
